At the invitation of Professor Gou Xiaohua and Associate Professor Zhang Fen of the college of Earth and Environmental Sciences of Lanzhou University and the Key Laboratory of Western Environment of the Ministry of Education, Researcher Fang Keyan from Fujian Normal University will come to our university for an academic visit and give a lecture on 9 May 2023, all students and teachers are welcome to attend!

Expert Introduction:

Fang Keyan, Ph.D. jointly trained by Lanzhou University and Columbia University, is a researcher at Fujian Normal University, a National Merit Youth and a ten-thousand people youth selection by the Central Organization Department. He is also the vice Chairman of the Dtree-ring Research Branch of the Chinese Geographical Society (CGS), a member of three professional committees of the CGS (Environmental Change and Environmental Archaeology, Climate Change and Mountain Branch), a member of the Historical Climate Committee of the Chinese Quaternary Society, a member of the National Standards Committee (Forest Fire Protection), and an expert of the National Natural Resources Foundation of China (NSFC). He received the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Geographical Society - Youth Science and Technology Award, the Liu Dongsheng Earth Science Scholarship, the National Nomination Award for 100 Outstanding Doctoral Theses, the Baogang Education Award, and the First China Young Talent Award for Tree Chronology Research. He is a member of the Academic Committee of Fujian Normal University and the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Ecological-Geographical Processes in Humid Subtropics of the Ministry of Education. He is mainly engaged in tree rings and climate change research. He has published more than 130 papers in Nature Communications and other academic journals.
