Speaker Profile:
Jin Zhangdong, born in 1971, is a researcher at the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund (2012), a member of the National WR Science and Technology Innovation Leading Talent (2016), and the leader of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Innovative Research Group (2022). He is currently the deputy director of the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the director of the State Key Laboratory of Loess and Quaternary Geology, the vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Mineralogy and Petrology, the director of the Chinese Quaternary Research Society, and the deputy editor-in-chief of Geochemistry. He has been engaged in research on chemical weathering in river basins for a long time, and has achieved a series of innovative results in the fields of river basin weathering-erosion and carbon balance, climate and tectonic interactions. He has presided over more than 20 national projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation's Innovative Research Group Project, key funds, major fund projects, and 973 project topics. He has published more than 200 SCI-indexed papers in journals such as Science, Nature Geoscience, Science Advances, and Geology, and has been cited more than 8000 times by SCI. He has won many honors including the excellent Communist Party member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the special government allowance of the State Council, China's Top Ten Scientific Progresses, ten major geological scientific progresses, the second prize of the State Natural Science Award, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences International Young Scientist Cooperation Award.
