Workshop on human-environment interactions in the middle-high latitudes and high altitudes of Eurasia held at Lanzhou University

The workshop on human-environment interactions in the middle-high latitudes and high altitudes of Eurasia was held at Lanzhou University, on May 25-26. The workshop was hosted by the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Key Laboratory of Western China’s Environment Systems, MOE of Lanzhou University, and was organized by Center for the Northwest and Central Asia Environmental Archaeology of Lanzhou University. Prof. Guanghui Dong and Prof. Xiaozhong Huang served as the chairman of the workshop. The workshop aims to discuss the history of human migration, cultural evolution, environmental change as well as the process and dynamics of the changes on the interaction between people and the environment in the middle-high latitudes and high altitudes of Eurasia from a multidisciplinary perspective, hoping to make new progress in related disciplines. There were many scholars participating in the workshop from various research institutes, including Lanzhou University, Renmin University of China, Yunnan University, Jilin University, Xiamen University, Guangzhou University, Northwest University, Beijing Union University, Northwest Normal University, Qinghai Normal University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Institute of Archaeology, CASS(Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, CAS(Chinese Academy of Sciences), Institute of Earth Environment, CAS, Kunming Institute of Zoology, CAS, Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, CAS, Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes, CAS, Institute of Geology, China Earthquake Administration and Institute of Geographical Sciences, Henan Academy of Sciences. Meanwhile, there were also scholars from Mongolia and Iran.
