Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology came to the institute for research and exchange

On the afternoon of July 3, Vice President Jiang Zhihong, Vice Dean of the Graduate School Wang Min, Dean of the School of Geographic Sciences Chen Shuang, Party Secretary Yin Yuefeng, Vice Deans Xie Yong and Zhao Lin from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, visited our college for research and exchange. Vice President Gou Xiaohua, who is also the Dean of the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lanzhou University, along with Vice Deans Guan Qingyu, Li Yu, Han Yanmei, and Deputy Secretary Wei Keran, attended the symposium, which was chaired by Vice Dean Guan Qingyu.


On behalf of the college, Gou Xiaohua extended a warm welcome to Vice President Jiang Zhihong and the delegation, and gave a brief introduction to the basic situation of the college. Li Yu presented an overview of the college's work, covering educational philosophy, disciplinary settings, faculty, talent cultivation, cultural heritage, undergraduate teaching, scientific research, innovation teams, social services, and platform construction.

Dean Chen Shuang provided a brief introduction to the faculty, research directions, graduate education, current status, and distinctive features of the School of Geographic Sciences at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. Subsequently, in-depth discussions and exchanges were conducted on topics such as the construction of first-class undergraduate programs, professional degree programs for graduate students, teaching internships and practical training, and disciplinary cross-collaboration.

Guan Qingyu pointed out that both the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lanzhou University and the School of Geographic Sciences at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology have their respective advantages in the development of geographic disciplines. It is hoped that the two institutions will further enhance communication and cooperation in talent cultivation and scientific research, jointly promoting the development of geographic disciplines.

Before the symposium, Vice President Jiang Zhihong and the delegation visited the Key Laboratory of Western China's Environmental Education, where Professor Dong Guanghui, the Executive Deputy Director of the laboratory, provided a brief introduction to its basic situation. In-depth discussions and exchanges were conducted regarding the laboratory's construction and development.
