To assist graduate students in understanding the details of the Smart City Competition and to enhance their performance, the "Graduate Smart City Technology Innovation Design Competition Training Session" was successfully conducted on the afternoon of September 11. Hosted by the Graduate Work Department of Lanzhou University and organized by the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the training featured guidance from Professor Zhang Jiachi, a professor and PhD supervisor from the School of Materials and Energy at Lanzhou University.
At the beginning of the session, Professor Zhang detailed the background of the Smart City Competition, including its format and structure. He highlighted that the competition is a high-level, nationally significant event widely recognized across industries. It features three categories: a directed track, a free-form track, and a corporate challenge track. Professor Zhang provided information on registration procedures and submission guidelines, encouraging students to actively participate and aim for outstanding results.
Professor Zhang also discussed how the Smart City Competition differs from other competitions, noting its high recognition and friendliness towards first-time participants, which spurred the students’ motivation to engage. He emphasized the competition's entry requirements and, drawing on previous experiences, offered detailed guidance to help students prepare their submissions effectively.
The lecture created an enthusiastic atmosphere, not only enhancing Lanzhou University graduate students' understanding of the Smart City Competition but also providing valuable guidance for those interested in participating further. Moving forward, the school will offer additional guidance and support based on the competition schedule and the needs of our teams.
