Recently, Dr. Li Guoqiang and Academician Chen Fahu, published an article entitled 'A Tianshan Mountains loess-paleosol sequence indicates anti-phase climatic variations in arid central Asia and in East Asia' onEarth and Planetary Science Letters.This study proves that the climate change in the arid region of Central Asia during the last interglacial period is mainly controlled by the westerly circulation, which further indicates that there is also a “westerly mode” for climate change during this period.
About the author: Dr. Li Guoqiang（1987-）, associate professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University. Dr. Li is mainly engaged in the record study on climate change and westerly-mons interaction in the westerly zone of the orbital scale. He has published more than 30 SCI papers in internationally renowned academic journals such asEarth and Planetary Science Letters,Quaternary Science Reviews,Quaternary Geochronology, and so on.
