Lecture Title: My Experience of Studying in the US

Expert Introduction:

Liang Wei, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor at Lanzhou University. He is mainly engaged in forest ecophysiology, vegetation modeling, plant stable isotopes, and ecohydrology. After he received his Master's degree in Ecology from Lanzhou University in 2006, he studied abroad in the United States. And then He obtained his Ph.D. in Natural Resources from the University of Idaho in the USA. He also held postdoctoral positions at the University of Idaho, the University of Missouri, and Los Alamos National Laboratory. After returning to China in 2019, he has been the Cuiying distinguished professor of the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lanzhou University since then.

Lecture Description:

In this lecture, Mr. Liang Wei will share his experience of studying, researching, and living in the United States for 12 years. When studying for a degree in the United States, choosing classes, completing assignments, participating in course discussions, completing dissertations, and getting along with supervisors, and so on, are all very different from those in China. Hope it will inspire you to look at university life in China from a different perspective. After getting his doctor`s degree, Mr. Liang Wei continued his research work in the United States. So from the lecture, you will also learn about the different research environments and approaches abroad.
