Lecturer profile:


Luo Yong is a professor and director of the Department of Earth System Sciences at Tsinghua University. He is mainly engaged in research on climate change, water and renewable energy, including Earth system model development and evaluation, global energy-water cycle process and mechanism, global climate change detection, attribution and prediction, land surface hydrological assimilation and climate prediction, climate change impact risk and countermeasures, renewable energy meteorology, etc. He is Vice Chairman of the Chinese National Committee on Climate and Cryosphere, Vice Chairman of the Chinese National Committee of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics/International Association for Cryosphere Science, vice Chairman of the Chinese Society for Cryosphere Science, and deputy editor of Advances in Climate Change Research. Asia Lead Author Coordinator (CLA) for Chapter X of Working Group II (WGII) of the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
