Expert Profile:
Associate Professor Zhu Ying is affiliated with the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where she also serves as a doctoral supervisor. Her primary research involves the use of modeling methods to study the distribution and risks of emerging pollutants in regional multi-media environments. She has established China's first national-scale high-resolution model for the fate and transport of dissociable organic compounds and developed various chemical emission inventories. Her work has proposed new approaches for risk assessment based on effective toxicological forms of dissociable organic chemicals. She has also revealed the major environmental sinks, high-risk areas, and key driving factors of such pollutants in China. Professor Zhu has published a total of 49 papers in journals such as Environmental Science & Technology, Environment International, and National Science Open. She currently serves as an associate editor for the international journals Frontiers in Environmental Chemistry and Resources, Environment and Sustainability.
