Speaker Profile:
Professor Zou Bin is a Changjiang Scholar recognized by the Ministry of Education in China. He is a professor, Ph.D. supervisor, and serves as the Deputy Dean of the School of Earth Sciences and Information Physics at Central South University. He is also the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education. His research focuses on "land spatial and natural resource remote sensing monitoring, environmental pollution remote sensing diagnosis and spatiotemporal modeling, environmental exposure assessment and health risk warning, and the development of smart/healthy city big data platforms." Professor Zou Bin holds various positions, including Founding Director of the International Association of Atmospheric and Environmental Remote Sensing, Member of the Health GIS Committee of the International Chinese Association for Geographic Information, Deputy Director of the Surveying and Mapping Education Work Committee of the China Society of Surveying and Mapping, Deputy Director of the Environmental Exposure Committee of the China Environmental Science Society, and Vice Chairman of the Hunan Surveying and Mapping Geographic Information Society, among others. He also serves as an editorial board member for five domestic and international academic journals.
Professor Zou Bin has been honored with numerous awards and titles, including selection into the National University Huang Danian-style Teacher Team, the Bao Steel Outstanding Teacher Award, the Ministry of Science and Technology's Young Remote Sensing Technology Innovation Talent, the National University GIS Innovation Character, the Hunan Province 121 Innovation Talent, and the Hunan Youth May Fourth Medal, among others. He has presided over more than 30 projects, including two projects under the National Key Research and Development Program, three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and several major horizontal projects commissioned by local governments. He has published over 200 journal papers, authored eight books, and holds more than 40 national invention patents and computer software copyrights. Professor Zou's achievements have earned him several national and provincial awards, including six top prizes in geographical information technology advancement, two-second prizes for scientific and technological progress in surveying and mapping at the national and provincial levels, and six teaching achievement awards at the provincial and ministerial levels in Hunan Province.
