Expert Profile:
Professor Lin Yang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Geography and Ocean Science at Nanjing University. She has been selected as a young top talent in the National "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" and primarily focuses on research related to the spatiotemporal simulation of surface features and their driving factors. She has published 100 academic papers in renowned journals, including 40 first-authored or corresponding author SCI papers in journals like Science Advances, ISPRS-J, IJGIS, Geoderma, Catena, Environmental Research Letters, and Environmental Pollution. She has led three National Natural Science Foundation projects, one sub-project under the National 863 Program, and one sub-project under the National Key Research and Development Program, among others. In 2014, she was elected as the Vice Chair of the Soil Metrology Committee of the International Union of Soil Sciences. Currently, she serves as a member of the International Soil Metrology Committee Award Evaluation Committee, Vice Chairman of the Resource Mapping Special Committee of the China Society of Natural Resources, a technical expert for the East Asia node of the Global Digital Soil Mapping Initiative, and a technical guidance expert for the third national soil survey. She is an editorial board member of the SCI journal Geoderma, an editorial board member of "Geographical Sciences," and an associate editor of the Pedometrics section of Frontier in Soil Science. Professor Lin Yang has received numerous awards, including the "Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award" from the Higher Education GIS Forum, the top award for GIS teaching achievements at the national level, the Young Outstanding Paper Award at the annual conference of the China Geographical Society, the Annual Outstanding Paper Award from the "Acta Pedologica Sinica," the "Advanced Moral Character Young Teacher Award" from Nanjing University, and recognition as an innovative figure in surveying and mapping and geographical information. She has also been honored with the "Innovative Figure Award" for GIS in higher education.
