Dr. Xia Huan is a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Ecology, Lanzhou University. His research focuses on environmental archaeology, specifically the history and survival strategies of early human activities in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physical Geography from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, in June 2022. Since March 2023, he has been conducting postdoctoral research at the School of Ecology, Lanzhou University. As the first or main author (including accepted articles), he has published over 20 papers in journals such as Nature (3 papers), Science (1 paper), Nature Sustainability, Science Bulletin, Journal of Geographical Sciences, Chinese Science Bulletin, Science China: Earth Sciences (both English and Chinese editions), and Quaternary Research. He has presided over one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Program and participated in one NSFC Key Project and one National Key R&D Program project.
