Expert Profile:
Zhao Zuoquan is a researcher at the Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a doctoral supervisor. He holds a PhD in Public Policy from George Mason University, USA, and a Doctorate of Science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is an expert in advanced manufacturing cluster policy research for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and a member of the National Advanced Manufacturing Cluster 50 Forum. His previous roles include senior researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Economics in Germany, Vice Chairman of the China Regional Science Association, and Vice President of the National Economic Geography Research Association. He has also been a member of the "National Land Planning Expert Advisory Committee" for the Ministry of Land and Resources and the National Development and Reform Commission. His main research areas are spatial economics, industrial clusters, regional policy, and spatial statistics. His work has been published in journals such as Management World, Xinhua Digest, China Soft Science, Economic Perspectives, Scientific Reports, International Journal of Geographical Information Science, and Geographical Analysis. His Chinese monograph, "Statistical Analysis of Spatial Patterns and Spatial Economic Analysis," was published by Science Press in 2014.
