At the invitation of the Department of Geography, College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Professor Deng Min from Central South University came to our school for academic exchange on September 24. On the morning of September 24, Professor Deng gave an academic report on "Intelligent Mining and Knowledge Service of Spatiotemporal Big Data of Natural Resources" in conference Room 1615, Guanyun Building, Chengguan Campus. The report was chaired by Professor Guan Qingyu of the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Some teachers, graduate students and undergraduates of the Department of College of Earth and Environmental Sciences listened to the report.
With the theme of "Intelligent mining and knowledge Service of spatiotemporal big Data of natural resources", the lecture divided the knowledge system of natural resources into four main types: descriptive knowledge, diagnostic knowledge, decision-making knowledge and predictive knowledge, and explained the research direction and practical application of each type of knowledge in detail. In addition, the lecture also covers the content of big data mining for natural resources, including common big data technologies and analytical methods, which can help us process and analyze huge natural resource data sets and extract valuable information and insights from them, which are of great significance for resource management and decision-making. Finally, the lecture also explored the concept of natural resource knowledge services, which combine the aforementioned body of knowledge with practical applications to provide decision-makers and researchers with customized information and advice about natural resources, through which knowledge can be better used to solve complex problems in resource management. This lecture not only covers multiple aspects of natural resource knowledge, but also introduces how big data and knowledge services can be used to address resource management challenges. After the report, the teachers and students actively asked questions and had a heated discussion with Ms. Deng Min. After the presentation, Professor Deng Min visited the Key Laboratory of Western Environment of the Ministry of Education.
