Expert Profile:
Huang Heqing, Ph.D., is a professor at the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), a researcher at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a doctoral supervisor. He is a recipient of the Chinese Academy of Sciences "Hundred Talents Program" and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. His long-term research interests include the mechanisms and methods of river morphology adjustment, theories and methods of geomorphological system evolution, characteristics of watershed water and sediment flux changes, and the application of remote sensing technology in geomorphological system evolution. He actively participates in the scientific research and popularization of geological heritage in world geoparks. Professor Huang has led several national-level projects, including key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, international (regional) cooperation and exchange projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, special national international scientific and technological cooperation projects, and key research and development programs of the state. He has published over 200 research papers in academic journals. Additionally, he serves as the co-chair of the International Association of Geomorphologists' Working Group on River System Theory and Simulation, vice president of the Chinese Society of Resource and Environmental Conservation, member of the Geomorphology and Quaternary Research Committee of the Geographical Society of China, member of the Sediment Committee of the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, and member of the Geological Tourism and Geopark Research Branch of the Geological Society of China.
